The analysis of
equipment and materials that have failed while in use or
while a product is being fabricated is a primary service
provided by MMT. The services provided vary from an
identification of the failure mode to an evaluation of the
root cause and factors that contributed to the failure of
the component.
Some services
provided have included the analysis of gears, pumps, drive
shafts, heat exchangers, turbines, pipelines, control
valves, pressure regulators, cars, trucks, heavy equipment,
bearings, fittings, light fixtures, electrical power
distribution and control equipment. The services
provided by MMT have also included the analysis of
components fabricated from metals, polymers, ceramics and
composite materials.
